Mount the probe with the 3/8-24 UNF thread into a suitable mounting block. Ensure maximum thread engagement of 0.563 in. Use 3-conductor shielded triad cable with tinned field wiring (16 to 24 AWG). The field wiring length between the 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor and the monitor must not exceed 305 meters (1,000 feet) to avoid signal roll-off at high frequencies. Set the initial gap to -9 Vdc (approximately 1.27 mm or 50 mils) for radial vibration measurements.
Maintenance & Reliability
Inspect the probe cable and connector periodically for damage, especially near the probe tip where flexing occurs. Keep the target surface clean and free of debris.
