What the TM5SDI16D Digital Input Module Delivers

This module is a digital input slice for the Modicon TM5 distributed I/O system. It provides 16 sink-type channels rated for 24 Vdc nominal, accepting 19.2–28.8 Vdc at the terminals. Each channel draws 3.75 mA at 24 Vdc and conforms to Type 1 characteristics per IEC 61131-2. A configurable input filter keeps response time at or below 3 ms, so fast sensor edges are captured without nuisance chatter.

Isolation is a key design point: there is no isolation between channels, while 500 Vrms AC separates the channel side from the bus. Diagnostics cover ModuleOK, DcOk and NetworkOk, giving maintenance teams a clear view of slice and network health. The module runs from the 24 Vdc TM5 bus, consumes 2.5 W, and draws 45 mA at 5 V DC from the bus plus 60 mA at 24 V DC with all inputs on. Its IP20 rating suits cabinet-mounted installations, and the slice measures 99 × 12.5 × 75 mm and weighs 0.025 kg.

Where the TM5SDI16D Fits

Because the slice is only 12.5 mm wide, it is well suited to compact control cabinets where panel space is scarce. Reliability and Maintenance
