Product Overview
When vibration monitoring demands precision and reliability in harsh environments, the Bently Nevada 146055-05-02-05 delivers. This 3300 Ceramic Capped Reverse Mount Probe provides accurate displacement measurements for critical rotating machinery. Designed for applications where space constraints or mounting configurations require a reverse mount design, this probe offers the robust performance you expect from Bently Nevada.
Key Specifications
The 146055-05-02-05 features a 0.5 meter (1.6 feet) total probe length with 3/8-24 UNF threads. The probe case is AISI 304 stainless steel, and the probe tip is made of alumina ceramic (Al2O3). It uses a miniature ClickLoc coaxial connector with standard cable. The nominal DC resistance from the center conductor to the outer conductor is 7.45 ± 0.50 ohms. The maximum length of thread engagement is 0.563 inches. The probe operates and stores in a temperature range of -51°C to +177°C (-60°F to +351°F). It is rated to seal 34 Bar (500 psi) nitrogen.
Performance Characteristics
For a 3300 5 mm system including Proximitor Sensor, extension cable, and probe between +18°C and +27°C (+64°F to +80°F), with a -24 Vdc power supply, a 10 kW load, and an AISI 4140 steel target, the linear range is 1.52 mm (60 mils). The linear range begins at approximately 0.25 mm (10 mils) from the target and is from 0.25 to 1.78 mm (10 to 70 mils) (approximately –4 to –16 Vdc). The incremental scale factor (ISF) for a standard 5-metre or 9-metre system is 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil) ±6.5% including interchangeability error when measured in increments of 0.25 mm (10 mils) over the 60 mil linear range from 0°C to +45°C (+32°F to +113°F).
Industry Applications
This probe is ideal for monitoring shaft vibration and position in turbines, compressors, pumps, and other rotating equipment. The ceramic capped tip provides excellent wear resistance in high-speed applications. The reverse mount design allows installation in confined spaces where standard probes cannot fit.
Installation & Setup Guidance
When installing the 146055-05-02-05, ensure the target surface is clean and made of AISI 4140 steel for optimal performance. The system accuracy and interchangeability specifications apply only when using an AISI 4140 steel target. Verify the probe gap within the linear range (0.25 to 1.78 mm) during setup. Use the miniature ClickLoc connector for secure cable attachment. For high-pressure applications beyond 34 Bar (500 psi), contact the custom design department.
Maintenance & Reliability
The stainless steel case and ceramic tip provide long service life in demanding environments. The probe withstands temperatures from -51°C to +177°C, making it suitable for a wide range of operating conditions. Regular inspection of the probe tip and cable for wear or damage is recommended. The 12-month factory warranty provides peace of mind.
Selection Guide & Purchasing Advice
When ordering the 146055-05-02-05, verify the total length option (05 = 0.5 meter), connector and cable-type option (02 = miniature ClickLoc coaxial connector, standard cable), and agency approval option (05 = multiple approvals). SpareTechPLC offers this probe new and in original factory packing. Please verify current lifecycle status and availability with SpareTechPLC before ordering.
